Obituary of Joy Widmaier

Joy Ann Albanese Widmaier, age 78, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Friday August 12, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Born on May 25, 1938 in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale Sr., and Annette Roberts Albanese. Joy enjoyed her winter trips to Florida, trips to the casino and cooking for family and friends. Her greatest time in life was that spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed. Survivors include her four loving children, Joseph J. Visconti Jr., of Monroe, Cori A. Traverse and her husband Scott of Stratford, Valerie A. Summa of Danbury and Dean A. Visconti and his wife Lorraine of Shelton, five cherished grandchildren, Vanessa, Christine, Frank, Anthony and Jessica, seven adored great grandchildren; a brother Leonard Albanese and his wife MaryAnn of Las Vegas, NV, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Pasquale Albanese Jr., and a sister Patricia Albanese. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4-8 pm.
