Obituary of John J. Wojchik

John J. Wojchik, age 87, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at St. Vincents Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Jean Bonitati Wojchik. Born in Queens, NY on March 5, 1929, he was the son of the late John and Michaela Wozna Wojchik. A graduate of Roger Ludlowe in Fairfield and proud US Navy Veteran, he was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft as a blade fabricator before his retirement in 1991. He also owned and operated Mademoiselle Hair Salon, formerly of Fairfield for many years. He loved to garden and found great enjoyment tending to his yard. He was also an avid woodworker and enjoyed dancing. A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his beloved wife, Jean, other survivors include his daughters, Lorraine Wojchik of Trumbull and Jean Zaleski and her husband David of Oxford, his granddaughter, Michelle Forbotnick and her husband Dan, three great grandchildren, Maya and Ava Dias and Daniel Forbotnick as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Wojchik and a sister, Mania Kanawall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
