Gary and Family, First and foremost, my family extends their condolences to you! I am not sure if Mary ever mentioned me but I am her "adoptive" daughter that lived across the hall from her. I met Mary back when I bought my first home, good ol' 58 C. I immediately became drawn to her for beautiful soul and that smile of hers! She immediately became drawn to me for how "sweet, nice and quiet" I was lol. :) I don't have family and Mary knew that, heck Mary knew about all of my dates and boyfriends lol. She was the grandmother/mother I never had and I will never forget her. I sold my condo in 2011 and my heart broke as I moved halfway across the united states. But who made it better? Mary! She and I wrote letters back and forth and stayed close as always. I received a letter from her on June 24th, my heart broke when I opened it up to see that she had to decline my invite to the wedding because she was diagnosed with cancer. She tried to say good bye to then but I couldn't bare to let that happen. Heck, she beat congestive heart failure!! I spoke to Mary on June 24th and her and I said our final good bye's, I am 32 years old and have never had to say good bye to someone, let alone someone that made me feel like I was important, smart, successful and loved. Someone I considered my grandmother/mother......... Again, I know you may not know me but I needed to let you know what she meant to me and how she was always light in the dark for me. I live in Kansas City now and will be buying a tree this weekend to plant in my yard. It will forever be known as the Mary tree. Thank you so much for allowing me to share my feelings. Amity
