Obituary of Janet L. Szymansky
Janet Criscione Szymansky, age 57, beloved wife of Edward Szymansky of Shelton passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Janet was born in Bridgeport on April 30, 1958, a daughter of Mary Criscione of Fairfield and the late John Criscione and was a graduate of Sacred Heart University. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was her whole world. Janet was happiest being with her husband and children and supporting their passions, education, and careers. She could fix anything from skinned knees to broken hearts, and everything in between; she was just that loving. Janet was employed as an administrative assistant, but in her free time loved the beach and taking long walks, and of course, the Beatles. When she wasn't working out, she would be poolside soaking up the sunshine with her dog and texting her kids ten times a day.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, she will be missed by all who knew her. Janet is survived by the loves of her life, her husband of 30 years, Eddie and their children Joey, Jesse and Jake all of Shelton. Pre-deceased by her brother, John Criscione, Janet is survived by her sister, Joanne Hilbert and her husband Ken of Plantation, FL, her loving niece, Sarah Grieb and her husband Brian of Naples, her sister-in-law, Laurel Criscione of Niantic, her nephew, Mark Criscione and his wife Holly of Massachusetts, niece, Beth Criscione of Niantic, her mother and father in law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Szymansky of Cape Cod and of course, her best friend and guardian angel, Caroline Fain.
Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, April 6th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 7th at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Huntington. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, 477 Howe Ave., Shelton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make a Wish Foundation, 126 Monroe Turnpike, Trumbull, CT 06611.
