Obituary of Mary A. Improta

Mary A. Larocca Improta, age 83, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at CT Hospice in Branford. She was the beloved wife of the late Luca Improta. Born in Tufo, Province of Minturno, Italy on April 10, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Filippo and Rosa Rasile Larocca. Mrs. Improta was employed by the Bridgeport Nutrition Center for many years. An avid bingo player, she also found great enjoyment on her trips to the casino and beach, however, her greatest pleasure was found in the time she spent cooking Sunday dinners and preparing for holiday meals with her family. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving children, Mark Improta of Bridgeport, Bridget Suchezky and her husband Gil of Milford and Roseann Piacentini and her husband Salvatore of MD, her cherished granddaughters, Jennifer Frimpter and April Suchezky, both of Milford, and a great granddaughter, Madison Frimpter. She is also survived by her sister, Angelina Ciufo of Bridgeport and her brother, Michael Larocca and his wife Mary of Easton, as well as several nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
