Obituary of Mario Marini
Mario Marini, age 81, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Maria Marini, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Torrice, Province of Frosinone, Italy on June 7, 1934, he was a son of the late Costantino and Angelina Testani Marini. A master upholsterer by trade, he was employed by the Joseph Marini Upholstery Shop as well as Brown Brothers Upholstery for many years. A New York Yankee fan and avid bowler, Mario had received several trophies for his accomplishments in duck pin bowling. He also found great enjoyment gardening, traveling and spending time with his friends talking and laughing while having coffee at the Circolo Sportivo Italian Social Club. But his greatest pleasure was found in the time he spent with his loving family, especially his grandchildren. He truly will be missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of St. Vincent's Medical Center, 6 North, PCU/ICU and Emergency Department for the professional care given to Mario during his time of need.
In addition to his beloved wife of 51 years, Maria, survivors include his loving daughters, Angelina DiStefano and her husband Dr. Arcangelo of Easton and Constance Marini of Bridgeport, two cherished grandchildren, Teresa and Nicholas DiStefano, his brothers-in-law, Quirino Marini of Trumbull and John Marini and his wife Patricia of Trumbull. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by an infant sister, Maria Litizia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport.
