Obituary of Margaret Halky
Margaret Hoydic Halky, age 92, of Bridgeport, who lived life to the fullest and enjoyed baking cookies for her family and friends, knitting and playing bingo, died on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on February 8, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Barbara Zubrich Hoydic. Mrs. Halky was an active member of the Success Village Seniors and the St. Ambrose Womens Club. In her earlier days, she worked at American Chain and Cable Co. and was an avid duckpin bowler. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward W. Halky, a brother, Stephen Hoydic and two sisters, Irene Jurgens and Helen Shevlin. Survivors include two children, Carole McQuillan and her husband James of Summerfield, FL and Robert Halky and his wife Elizabeth of Trumbull, a brother, John Hoydic of Trumbull, two sisters, Mary Bike of Bridgeport and Beatrice Balakier of Stratford, six grandchildren, Patrick McQuillan, Kathleen Lamparelli, Brian McQuillan, Traci Eskildsen and Todd and Travis Halky, seven great grandchildren and three on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations Information
