Obituary of Frances Jean Tichy

Frances Jean (Jankowski) Tichy, age 89, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Edward F. Tichy, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in Danbury Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on July 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice Pederson Jankowski. Mrs. Tichy was a long-time member of the Pinewood Lake Association and enjoyed being at the lake every summer. She volunteered for the Republican Party in Trumbull and worked at the polls for many years. She worked part-time at the Trumbull Board of Education for the town census. Survivors include her devoted daughter, Karen Tichy, Esq. of Trumbull and a son, Edward Tichy and wife Theresa of New York, NY, a beloved granddaughter, Kathryn, and great grandson, Aiden, both of New York, NY, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff of Genesis Glen Hill Center in Danbury and to her excellent physician, Dr. Howard Kaplan, for the exceptional care provided to Mrs. Tichy. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA at a later date. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
