Obituary of Horrex J. King, Jr.

Horrex J. King, Jr., age 96, of Newport, NH, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Edith Smith King. Born in Waterbury, CT on January 29, 1919, he was the son of the late Horrex J. Sr, and Gladys Chase King. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Horrex later was employed as one of the original men with the Sturm Ruger Company for 34 years before his retirement. In addition to his wife, other survivors include his children, Horrex J. King, III and his wife Connie of Wilmington, NC, Jack King and his wife Joan of Wallingford, CT and Lorraine Mirto and her husband Matthew of Shelton, six beloved grandchildren, Rex, IV and his wife Angie, Kelly Eavey and her husband Randy, Matthew Mirto and his wife Jennifer, Wendy Hiltz and her husband Michael, Jennifer King and Jamie King and her husband. He also leaves thirteen great grandchildren. A prayer service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
