Obituary of Arnold R. Murgatroyd
Arnold R. Murgatroyd, age 75, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marie Puglio Murgatroyd. Born in Bridgeport on April 27, 1939, he was a son of the late Gordon and Alice Arnold Murgatroyd. A graduate of Bullard Havens Technical School, he later served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was also employed by the IBEW Local 488, where he worked as an electrician before his retirement with 43 years of dedicated service. Arnold was an avid New York Giants fan and thoroughly enjoyed his time at the beach. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his beloved wife of 53 years, Marie, other survivors include his three children, Dawn Larson and her husband Jeff of Trumbull, Melissa McFadden and her husband Michael of Trumbull and Michael Murgatroyd and his wife Debra of Southbury, two cherished grandchildren, Madeline and Michael Murgatroyd. He was predeceased by his sister, Janet Daniels and a brother, Gordon Murgatroyd.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Nichols Village Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Friends may call at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
