Obituary of Joseph Michael Ferrara

Joseph Michael Ferrara, age 88, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Gloria D'Eramo Ferrara, passed away peacefully on Friday December 26, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on August 12, 1926 he was a son of the late Michael and Dora Ferrara. A U.S. army veteran of WW II, Joe was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union Local 777 for over 30 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include four loving children, Cathy Macomber of Bridgeport, Joseph M. Ferrara Jr., and his wife Charlene of Stratford, Annalyn Monaco and her husband Rick of Guilford and David Ferrara and his wife Dawnmarie of Shelton, five cherished grandchildren, Candice Boyle and her husband Steve, Kelly Scofield, Joseph M. Ferrara III, Stephanie Monaco and David Ferrara Jr., four adored great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mary-Kate, Matthew and Molly, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his three siblings, Anthony, Pauline and Lucy. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
