Obituary of Edward T. Bonawitz

Edward Theodore Bonawitz, 70, of Trumbull, CT, passed away on June 19, 2014 in Bridgeport, CT. Ed was born on May 31, 1944 in Tremont, PA to the late Theodore and Mary Florick Bonawitz. He went to high school at Tremont High School and graduated in 1962. He then went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, and worked in Logistics and Operations for companies such as The Seagrams Company and Coca-Cola, among others. Later in life he worked for the Stratford Board of Education before retiring. He enjoyed golf, hunting, and riding his motorcycle, and was actively involved in both the Pop Warner and Bunnell High School football organizations. Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years Sharon Bonawitz and daughter Ashley Rydecki and her husband Kevin, all of Trumbull, CT, and his son Gregory Bonawitz and his wife Rebecca of Schwenksville, PA; sisters Patricia Davis and her husband John of Clarksville, MD and Emma Bates and her husband Jim of Ellicott City, MD; and grandchildren, Collin and Ryan Rydecki and William, James and Abigail Bonawitz. Friends may call at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A period of remembrance and reflection will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
