Obituary of Catherine M. Ely

Trumbull Resident Catherine Hassleman Ely, age 82, of Trumbull, a retired bookkeeper for Elman Kitchens, died on Thursday, October 8, 2009 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on April 24, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Alice Faye Hassleman. A loving and caring person who always gave of herself, she was a member of the Long Hill Baptist Church. She was pre-deceased by her husband Russell Ely. Survivors include three children, Donna of Milford, Sondra Wheeler and her husband Thomas of MD, Daniel Alan Ely and his wife Suzet of Shelton, a sister Lena Stempert of Trumbull, nine grandchildren, Wade and Wendy Varocsi , Brett and Cassandra Daley, Jessica and Timothy Wheeler, Sarah Wheeler Sesnak, Michelle Ely, and Nicole Moran. Three great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Jacob and Gabrielle Varocsi, and several nieces and nephews and a dear friend Marilyn Silvia of Bridgeport. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in Long Hill Baptist Church, 100 Middlebrooks Ave., Trumbull on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Park Cemetery, Bridgeport. Family and friends may call on Monday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
