Obituary of Rita H. Donovan

Rita Helen Cerrotti Donovan, age 70, of Shelton, beloved wife of Mark F. Donovan, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Bridgeport Hospital following a two year courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on August 24, 1942 in Hamden, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary Gruz Cerrotti. A devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Donovan was a paraprofessional at Samuel Staples Elementary School in Easton and had previously worked for several years at the New Haven Register. A lifelong Bridgeport area resident, she enjoyed cooking, was an avid reader and also enjoyed traveling and trips to the casino. She also devoted her time to volunteering at Bridgeport Hospital. In addition to Mark, her husband of 44 years, survivors include two sons, James Donovan of Hamden and Peter Donovan of Shelton. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
