Obituary of Margaret Donofrio

Margaret Peggy Donofrio, age 95, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late John D. Donofrio, passed away at her residence on Friday, March 8, 2013. Born in Bridgeport on June 10, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Adolf and Antoinette Palumbo Guerra. She retired from Avco Lycoming after many years. Mrs. Donofrio was a wonderful Mom who loved to cook and bake. She was an avid knitter and enjoyed knitting scarves for the homeless which she did up until her death. She wintered in Florida every year and loved her trips to the casino and watching the New York Yankees. Peggy and her husband enjoyed traveling with Barbara and Chuck Kressu. She was past president of the Ostomy Club. Survivors include two daughters, Joan Mills of East Haven and Laurie Macisco and her husband Albert of Trumbull, a sister, Josephine Esposito of Trumbull, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Sylvia Mottola and Olga Germaine. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peggys memory to a favorite charity.
