Obituary of Florence J. Donofrio

November 20, 2011 Florence J. Giannino Donofrio, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Matthew J. Donofrio Sr., passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly. Mrs. Donofrio was born in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Marcone Giannino Sr. In her early years, she was employed by Remington Arms as an assembler. An accomplished artist, she also loved to play the piano. She will best be remembered as one of the remaining members of the Pinewood Lake Bridge Club since 1945. Survivors include her son, Robert Donofrio and his wife Elizabeth of Westport, Matthew Donofrio Jr. and his wife Margaret of Florida, seven grandchildren, Michelle Harding and her husband Tom, Siobhan Donofrio and her husband Bill Ralls, Heather Daly Donofrio and her husband Raymond Howell, Hilary Lawton and her husband Eric III, Matthew Donofrio III and his wife Melissa, Robert Donofrio and his wife Megan and Stephen Donofrio, nine great grandchildren, Devan, Ryan and Phoebe Donofrio Ralls, Declan and Dillon Harding, Eric IV and Michael Lawton, Hannah Howell and Harper Holland Donofrio, a brother, Frank Giannino Jr. of Trumbull as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by two sisters, Dorothy Benefico and Virginia Battista. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Stratford.
