Obituary of Carmella Daston

Loving Mother and Grandmother Carmella (Millie) Caggianello Daston, age 95 of Bridgeport, loving wife of the late Nicholas Daston, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 2, 2011 at her residence with her family by her side. Born on December 17, 1915 in Ariano di Puglia, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Gabriella Christino Caggianello. Mrs. Daston worked as a seamstress for the Levine Coat Company and contributed to the war effort working at the Bridgeport Brass, before leaving there to start and raise a family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted herself to the love and care of her family. She will truly be missed. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by four brothers, Nicholas, Joseph, V. James and Carmen Caggianello. Survivors include three loving children, Patricia Ariano and her husband Frank of Trumbull, Anthony Daston and his wife Rana of Abingdon VA and Robert Daston and his wife Cindy of Trumbull, six cherished grandchildren, Alicia and her husband Tristan, Rachel and her fiancee Raul, Ashley, Lauren, Lana and Jacob; three sisters-in-law, Jane Caggianello of Stratford, Antoinette Caggianello and Anna Daston DeFelice, both of Shelton as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 pm.
