Obituary of Nicolina Antignani
Nicolina (Nikki) M. DeMasi Antignani, 75, went to the Lord on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at St. Vincents Medical Center, Bridgeport, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Nikki was born October 13, 1929 in Bridgeport to her loving parents, Ralph and Annunziata (Nancy) Imitazione DeMasi. Nikki was a lifelong Bridgeport resident. She attended Central High School and worked at Remington Rand and Levine's prior to her marriage in 1951 to her husband Ralph. Nikki was a loving mother to her eight children and doting grandmother to her five granddaughters. She had special relationships with her parents, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, cousins, and the many friends that she had made over her lifetime. Nikkis love for others was so great. She was warm, generous and caring and she will be greatly missed. Nikki was a wonderful cook, an avid reader, an expert card player, and loved movies and music, having been a talented singer herself. Her passion throughout the years was playing Bingo. She played at various churches and synagogues throughout Bridgeport most recently at St. Raphaels Church and St. Patrick Church. She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church and a member of the Bridgeport Democratic Club.
In addition to her husband, Nikki is survived by her devoted children, Diana Goldstein and her husband Gerald of Naugatuck, Nancy Diaz and her fiance Ron Long of Stratford, James, John, Louis and Teresa Antignani, all of Bridgeport, Joseph Antignani and his companion, Irene Radzwillas of Norwalk, and Joan Mantone and her husband August of Trumbull; five granddaughters, Jessica, Rachel and Sara Goldstein of Naugatuck and Isabella and Savannah Mantone of Trumbull; three sisters, Phyllis DiTarando of Stratford, Nancy English, Teresa Vitello and her husband Anthony all of Bridgeport; brother Joseph DeMasi of Bridgeport; brother-in-law Serafino (Sal) Antignani and his wife, Gloria of Stratford, sisters-in-law Rosemary and Mary Antignani, both of Bridgeport, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother Louis and his wife Mary, brother Ralph DeMasi, sister and her husband, Anna and Victor Cioffi, sister-in-law Lucille DeMasi, sister-in-law and her husband Filomena and Frank DelVecchio, sister-in-law and her husband Anna and Robert Noonan, sister-in-law Regina Antignani, brothers-in law Michael DiTarando, Patsy English, Felix and Joseph Antignani, nephews Ronald DeMasi, Cataldo Liquigli, Robert Gallucci, nieces Victoria Cioffi and Marie Chalker, grand-nephews Frank Argonese and Jay Cioffi.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 8 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine Chapel, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday 4-8 p.m.
