Obituary of Robert J. Covino
Ansonia Resident
Robert J. Covino, Sr. age 80, beloved husband of Mafalda Scappatura Covino of Ansonia, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 14, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on January 8, 1932, he was a son of the late Luke and Ann Scinto Covino. Mr. Covino was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. At his retirement he was a Technical Chief with the Bridgeport Housing Authority with over 20 years of service. In addition to his wife Mafalda of 57 years, survivors include his four loving children, Robert J. Covino, Jr. of Branford, Gary Covino and his wife Catherine of Ansonia, Nancy Mankulics and her husband Stephen of Ansonia and Julie Hanson and her husband James of Maryland, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Arlene Bartnikowski and three brothers, Michael, Daniel and Edward Covino. Funeral Information
A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will take place on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Dr., Ansonia.
