Obituary of Carlo R. Alterio

Lifelong Bridgeport Resident Carlo R. Alterio, Sr., age 89, of Bridgeport, died on Sunday, January 29, 2006 in Lord Chamberlain Health Care. Born in Bridgeport on May 1, 1916, he was the son of the late Dominick and Concetta Simonelli Alterio and was a lifelong city resident. He was a retired painter for the city of Bridgeport and was also employed by Mr. Jerrys Clothing. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Alice McCarthy Alterio, a son, Carl Alterio, Jr. and a daughter, Doris Sanford. Survivors include four children, Louis Alterio and his wife, Kathleen of Bridgeport, Dominick Alterio and his wife, Diane of Shelton, Ernest Alterio and his wife, JoAnn of Shelton and Diana Pires and her husband, Albino of Naugatuck, 13 grandchildren, Louis Jr., Jason, Tara, Lisa, Michael, Tony, David, Carl and Rhiannon Alterio, Jacquline Pires, James, Gerald and Richard Sanford, several great grandchildren, his special companion, Barbara Topoloski of Trumbull and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11:45 a.m. until the time of service.
