Obituary of Ruth M. Allan

Trumbull Resident Ruth M. Allan, age 88 of Trumbull, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at St. Vincent Medical Center after a long and fulfilling life, surrounded by her entire family. Born on August 12, 1922 in Fairfield, Ruth was a daughter of the late John and Mary Fagan Murphy. She graduated from New Haven State Teachers College and worked as a substitute teacher in the Trumbull school system while raising her children. She loved reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, James Malcolm Allan, a brother, John Murphy and a sister, Mildred Goldbach. Survivors include two children, MaryLou Sheehan and her husband John of Trumbull, James Allan and his wife Bernadette of Shelton, five grandchildren, Meghan, Alisa and John Sheehan and James and Matthew Allan, a sister-in-law, Marion Murphy of Trumbull, and a brother-in-law, Hank Goldbach of Milford as well as many nieces, nephews and her beloved cat Bailey. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm.
