Obituary of Nicholas J. Branca

"Big Nick"

Nicholas "Big Nick" Branca, age 7, of Shelton and Milford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on December 13, 2001, he was the cherished son of Margaret M. Crouse Branca of Milford and Jeffrey A. Branca of Shelton. Nick was truly a courageous young man and was a source of strength to everyone he came in contact with.

In addition to his devoted parents, survivors include his loving brother John Cataldo III, paternal grandparents, Ralph and Ida Bernabei Branca of Shelton, maternal grandparents Truman and Helene Reiling Crouse of Richmond, ME, aunts and uncles, Donna Kapitan and her husband Ed, Anthony Branca and his wife Elaine, Ralph Branca, Emma (Auntie Em) Branca and Chris Branca and his wife Kathy as well as many cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service celebrating his life will take place on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Following services the family would love to gather with family and friends in the McClinch Family Center located behind the church to celebrate Nicholas life, strength and courage. There will be no calling hours.
