Obituary of Theresa Scialis

Theresa Veltri Scialis, age 85, of Stratford, died on Monday, December 13, 2010 in St. Josephs Manor, Trumbull. Born in Barnesboro, PA on March 12, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Porto Veltri. She moved to Italy as a young child and returned to the United States to begin a new life. She was married for 60 years to the late Quirino T. Scialis. She enjoyed the company of family, relatives, friends and neighbors. She was part owner of the Tony and Theresas Plants of Stratford. She enjoyed gardening, raising plants from seeds, cooking and baking. Theresa was a kind and generous woman who was loved by all. Survivors include a son, John Scialis and wife Linda of Cromwell, a brother Natalie and his wife Angelina of South America and their children, brother-in-law, Renato Scialis and his wife Emma and family of Milford, sisters-in-law, Paola Salati and her husband Antonio and family of Milford and Olinda Scialis Suriano and family of Italy, and brother-in-law, Maurizio Scialis and Anna Montanaro of Milford, a special cousin Louisa Russo and family of Trumbull, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank both the nurses and staff at St. Josephs Manor and the nurses and aides from Sola Amor Hospice for all their services, time and personal loving care. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and 9:00 a.m. in St. James Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
