Obituary of Gretchen Schuerlein
Gretchen Hunger Schuerlein, age 92, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Benjamin Schuerlein, passed into her eternal rest on Sunday, March 20, 2005 in St. Joseph Manor. Gretchen was born in New Haven, where her parents Paul and Josephine Hunger owned and operated the Hunger German Delicatessen on Congress Avenue in New Haven. Gretchen married Benjamin Schuerlein and lived in Middle Village, New York for 60 years.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Schuerlein and his wife, Carol of Trumbull and John Schuerlein and his wife, Pat of Bethpage, New York, ten grandchildren, Carol Gibbons, Cathy Davis, Caren Chiarelli, Paul and Robert Schuerlein, Kristen Geraghty, Christine Baily, Thomas, James and Kimberly Schuerlein, 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 12:00 noon in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a reading of the Liturgy of the Word. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
