Obituary of Henry Louis Savo
Shelton Resident
Henry Louis (Hank) Savo, age 54, of Huntington, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at home with his loving family by his side after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 29, 1954, in Bridgeport to Felicia D'Amato Savo and the late Enrico Savo. He graduated from Bridgeports Central High School, Norwalk Technical College, and Sacred Heart University. He was an employee of Information Services at Bridgeport Hospital and Yale New Haven Hospital for 30 years. A true gentleman, Henry was devoted to his family, colleagues and friends. He will be fondly remembered as a happy, loving, caring man. Henry is survived by the love of his life, Sue (Lagerfeldt) Savo, wife of 33 years; and their children, Amy Angela and Richard Carl. He is also survived by his precious sisters and their husbands: Anna and Ralph DeAcetis of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; twin sister, Eva, and Gary Salamon of Fairfield; Linda and Lou Moran of Trumbull; Lucy and Teddy Terentiuk of Milford; uncles and aunts: Albert and Geri DAmato, Rose Savo and Angelo Savo; mother-in-law Emma Lagerfeldt; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and three godchildren. Henry will be greatly missed by family cats Tony and the ever-loyal Marble, who offered him extra TLC during the tough times. A jack of all trades, Henry was always eager to work on home improvement projects with family and friends who sought his help. His favorite projects were always those he completed with his son, Richie, who learned many skills from his dad. Henry truly enjoyed and took advantage of warm weather, when he spent much of his free time outside in the garden tending to the tomatoes, and working in the yard. He treasured going to the local farms to pick the seasons fruits with his daughter, Amy. Henry loved to visit the lake at Wolfe Park with his wife, Sue, who he nicknamed his Honeycomb. Friends and family admired Henry for his good nature and his easy sense of humor. He looked forward to holidays and family gatherings, and enjoyed the traditions of his Italian heritage. Henrys family cannot express how grateful they are for the tender care he received from the oncology floor at Bridgeport Hospital and Patti from VNS Hospice. They would also like to thank his friends and colleagues for their endless support and kindness. Henry touched so many of our lives, taught us and gave us so much. We are forever grateful to have had such a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and, friend. Funeral Information
