Obituary of Rose R. Salega

Rose Puglisi Salega (Seliga), age 85, of Bridgeport, a retired secretary for General Electric with 42 years of service, died on Monday, May 11, 2009 in the Jewish Home for the Elderly. Born in Bridgeport on July 23, 1923, she was the daughter of the late George and Carmela Poidomani Puglisi. She was a member of the St. Theresa Guild and Holy Rosary Church Seniors. Family always came first with Rose and now its her turn to be first with the Lord. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her devoted husband of 39 years, Frank J. Salega, a step daughter, Joan Gentile and her husband Larry of Monroe, a loving brother, Harry Puglisi and his wife Grace of Stratford, two great grandchildren, Stephen and Jessica Tartaglia and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins who Rose loved dearly. She was pre-deceased by a granddaughter Kimberly Tartaglia and four brothers, Tom, Mike, Sam and John Puglisi. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers especially Thelma of the Jewish Home for the Elderly who took wonderful care of Rose for the past seven years. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in Holy Rosary Church, 365 East Washington Ave., Bridgeport on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
