Obituary of Roland Garamella

Roland Bob Garamella, age 75, of Bridgeport, a retired letter carrier, died on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at St. Vincent Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in the Hollow section of Bridgeport, he was a son of the late John Brelsford and Carmella Stillitano Brelsford, and was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Garamella had served as shop steward at the Bridgeport Post Office and was past president of the North End Little League. He was an avid fan of the Redskins and Uconn Huskies basketball. He enjoyed gardening and walking in Bridgeports different parks. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy DAmato Garamella, a son, Chris Garamella of New Haven, two daughters, Dina Garamella of Milford and Lynn Garamella of Bridgeport, a granddaughter, Gianna Loughman and her father William Loughman of Bridgeport, special friend, Michael Sodins, two brothers, Dominick Garamella Jr. of Florida and James Garamella of Fairfield. He was predeceased by a brother, Michael Garamella. The family would like to thank the very caring staff at St. Vincent Medical Center, especially Janet and the caregivers from 6 North. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Mt. Grove of Easton Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m..
