Obituary of Josephine Rogers

Josephine Bocchino Rogers, age 78, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Harry L. Rogers, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on October 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Sabato and Philomena (Melillo) Bocchino. She retired from the Bridgeport Flyer Diner after serving many patrons of Bridgeport for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time cooking for her family, going on family vacations with her children and grandchildren, and traveling to the casino on occasion. She was the loving mother of Jo-Ann Fredericks and her husband Walter, Harry L. Rogers Jr. and his wife Louise, and Louis Rogers and his wife Carol, the Grandmother of Jo-Lynn and James Fredericks, Stephanie Rogers Gonzalez and her husband Michael, Lisa Wisniewski, and Lori Fredericks, Cassidy and Jonchristian Consavage, and Great Grandmother to Corinne, Louis, Taylor, Makenzie Wisniewski, Jason Fredericks, and Michael III, Courtney, and Ava Gonzalez. She is survived by one brother, Carmen Bocchino and his wife Stella of Shelton, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister Margaret DiStefano, and four brothers, Anthony, Gene, Armando, and Sam Bocchino. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
