Obituary of Anthony Piazza

Devoted Father & Grandfather Anthony Piazza Sr., age 85, of Yonkers, NY, loving husband of the late Concetta Cannavo Piazza, died peacefully on Wednesday May 2, 2012 at his daughters residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 23, 1926 in Francavilla, Sicily and grew up in Motta Camastra, Sicily, Italy. He was a son of the late Sabastiano and Maria Concetta Puglisi Piazza. Anthony came to the U.S. in 1955 first settling in Poughkeepsie, NY and then in Yonkers where he resided for 53 years before coming to Easton. On April 19, 1959 at St Josephs Church in Yonkers, NY he married Concetta Cannavo Piazza. Concetta predeceased him in December 1997. He was the owner and operator of Antres Construction Company Inc. in Yonkers for 45 years. Anthony was an avid gardener, who enjoyed a good meal and glass of his home made wine. Above all he truly enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. His hard work and strong family values will live on through his family. Survivors include two loving children, a son, Anthony Piazza Jr., of New York City, a daughter, Teresa Piazza-Manii and her husband Sassan of Easton, CT three cherished grandchildren, Cassandra Hall and Kamron and Kaidyn Manii, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Family and friends may call on Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull CT 06611. Funeral services will take place on Saturday May 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 854 Midland Ave Yonkers NY, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Yonkers, NY.
