Obituary of Marjorie F. Mueller

Marjorie Fielden Mueller, 86, beloved wife of the late Manfred (Fred) Mueller and a Stratford resident for over fifty years, died peacefully at home on Tuesday evening, December 3, 2013. A daughter of the late Claudia (Siebert) Fielden, she was born in Sellersville, PA, on April 20, 1927, and was raised in Walden, NY. After her high school graduation, Marge and her mother relocated to Bridgeport, CT. During the 1950s, she worked in Manhattan for several years at Macys department store and later for renowned silversmith Robert Ensko. In the fall of 1961, on a weekend early-morning train ride home, Marge shared conversation (and a doughnut) with another Bridgeport-bound rider, Stratford resident Fred Mueller. Although they had never met, they soon discovered that they had several friends in common. Fred offered a ride home from the train station, and six months later Marge and Fred were engaged. They were married for forty-nine years at the time of Freds death in 2011. In the 1980s Marge began a second career as a realtor, working for Katherine OConnor Real Estate, later Century 21 Richter Real Estate in Stratford, for over twenty-five years. Marge enjoyed gardening and reading and especially loved to travel. She and Fred visited his native Germany several times, as well as enjoying regular trips to Cape Cod and Florida. In addition to her husband and mother, Marge was predeceased by her brothers Bill and Hank and her sister Betty, and their spouses. She is survived by a nephew, Frederick Banks of Culpeper, VA, and a great-niece, Gillian Kay, of Cape Coral, FL, and by countless friends old and new. She will be remembered with love and sadly missed by many.
