Obituary of Rose Morelli

Rose Grella Morelli, age 97, of Bridgeport, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in Bridgeport Hospital. Rose was born in Bridgeport on September 19, 1915. She was the wife of the late Stephen Morelli, daughter of the late Rocco and Raffaela Macchiarella Grella and sister of the late Patsy and baby Angelina Grella. She worked in the seamstress industry until her retirement. Rose was also a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church where she was a loyal member of the St. Theresa Ladies Guild. Rose truly loved Holy Rosary Church, as well as the priests and parishioners who served and worshipped there. Rose is survived by sister-in-law, Angelina Grella of Wallingford, two nephews and one niece, Patrick Grella and his wife Linda of Trumbull, Robert Grella and his wife Mary of Massachusetts, Judith Acosta and her husband Joseph of Wallingford. In addition, Rose is survived by four great nieces, Suzanne Grella of Milford, Bethann Grella and her husband Sander van Erk of Georgia, Melissa Skovdal and her husband Soren of Tennessee and Anne Grella of California. Great great nieces and nephews: Jessica Kuckel and her husband Andrew of Newington, Sorina and Tyler Skovdal and Sebastian and Tristan van Erk. The family wishes to thank Bill and Dottie Schlenk, Donna Paoletta, Ann and Joe Keogan, and her many friends for their tireless hours of friendship and support. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 365 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
