Obituary of Jean Mitola

Mitola Jean (Jane) LaScala Mitola, age 75, of Shelton, a home maker, died on Thursday, January 15, 2009 in St. Vincent Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Carmella Sarta LaScala. Mrs Mitola was formerly employed at Warnaco, and was a member of the A.A.R.P. She was a charitable person and supported many organizations, and truly enjoyed spending time with her grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Francis M. Mitola, a brother, John and sister in law Josephine LaScala. Survivors include four sons, Michael Mitola of Shelton, Thomas Mitola and his wife Cynthia of Waterbury, Gary Mitola and his wife Jody of Oxford and John Mitola of Shelton, a sister, Rose LaScala of Bridgeport, and her beloved grandson, Dylan. 

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday January 21, 2009 at 10 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
