Obituary of Robert J. Mitchell

Retired engineer for Phillips Medical Robert J. Mitchell, age 88, of Trumbull, a retired engineer for Phillips Medical, died on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Boston, MA, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Lillian Sawtelle Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Donovan Mitchell and a brother, Vincent Mitchell. Survivors include his five children, Katherine Mitchell - Henry and her husband John of Shelton, Elaine Marsala and her fiance William Vasas of Milford, Cynthia Stevenson and her husband Ronald of Trumbull, Marianne Reithoffer and her husband Rick of Florida, Robert Mitchell Jr. of Trumbull and adopted daughter Sandra Cooper and her daughter Alexandra both of Milford, five grandchildren, Amber, Jason, Ricky, Matthew and Jamie, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 9 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment with military honors will follow Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 48 pm at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
