Obituary of Ana Marolo Dias Bernardo
Ana Marolo Dias Bernardo, age 89, of Ansonia and formerly of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Antonio Carvalho Bernardo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 2, 1936 in Vilar de Perdizes, Montalegre, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Manuel De Barros Dias and Maria Alves Marolo.
Along with her family, Ana immigrated to the United States and settled in Bridgeport. She was a retired machine operator for the former ACME United Corp.
A hard-working woman, Ana was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was dedicated to the love and care of her family and loved when her grandchildren and great grandchildren were by her side. The unconditional love she gave and the values she taught will forever live in our hearts.
Survivors include her loving son Antonio Dias Bernardo, and his partner, Albertina Rodas, to whom the family extends a heartfelt thank you for the loving care she gave Ana in her time of need; two cherished grandchildren, Antonio Bernardo Jr. and his wife Diana, and Annalisa Montanez and her husband Richard; and six adored great grandchildren, Gianluca, Giordana, Mariella, Giovanni, Luciano, and Viviana. She also leaves behind a sister, Joaquina Goncalves, and her husband Antonio; five nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Dias, Carlos Dias Jr., Antonio Goncalves Jr., Anibal Flambo, and Antonio Flambo; as well as several great nieces, nephews, and family members in Portugal. Ana was predeceased by a brother, Carlos Marolo Dias, and a sister, Maria Alves Flambo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
