Obituary of Phyllis R. Pennino

Phyllis R. Pennino, 81, formerly of Westport, passed away with her close family by her side on Saturday, May 13, 2023. Phyllis was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 27, 1941, a daughter of the late Victor and Mary Safran. Phyllis was a longtime homemaker in which she took pride in caring for her family. Her favorite pastime was spending time with family, cooking, shopping, vacationing in Aruba as well as visiting casinos with her husband Frank. Mahjong occupied her life in later years and it was during gameplay when she met her cherished friend Jaye Constantino.

She is survived by her son Paul Pennino and his wife Susan; her cherished granddaughters Alexis, Lauren and Mia, her brother Steven Safran, her best friend "sister" Carole Schumer. She is also survived by Marc Pennino and sons Anthony and Christian.

Funeral services were private. Entombment took place in Mount St. Peter Cemetery in Derby, CT. Arrangements are under the direction of The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull CT.
