Patricia M. Toohey, 86, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on March 12, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James and Josephine (D'Apice) Vetre.
Pat dedicated over 40 years of her life to caring for others as a nurse at St. Vincent's Medical Center, a profession she took great pride in. Beyond her work, she found joy in the simple pleasures—spending time on the golf course, playing cards with family and friends, and enjoying trips to the casino. More than anything, Pat cherished the time she spent with her family, who were the center of her life.
She will be deeply missed by her sons, Phil Toohey and his wife, Deanna, and Robert Toohey and his wife, Kara; her brother, Philip Vetre and his wife, Janice; her beloved grandchildren, Samantha Ainsworth and her husband, Cade, Julia Muchnick and her husband, Aaron, Hannah Toohey, Michael Toohey and his wife, Haley, and Alexa Toohey; and her cherished great-granddaughter, Stella Ainsworth. Pat also looked forward with great happiness to the arrival of her great-grandson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive friends and relatives at a Memorial Gathering on Friday morning, April 24, 2026, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
